• Small tips for porters and small services beyond the safari are approx. 20-100 rupees (100 rupees are approx. 1.50 €).

  • It is NOT allowed to import Indian rupees!

  • Breathable, light clothing, helmet for the ride. Temperatures during the day are like our summers.

  • Possibly warmer pajamas / jogging suit for the camp evenings. At night it can get quite cold in the semi-desert!

  • I went well with only eating cooked food and drinking water only from sealed bottles (also to brush your teeth). Eat only fruits which have to be peeled.

  • Medicines: anti-diarrheal agent, pain killers (for headaches, too), eyedrops because of the dust (e.g., Euphrasia), patches, disinfectant, for bruises e.g. Traumeel.

  • Important: Valid passport and apply early for a visa. Best via e-Visa: http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html Please note that a passport photo according to the requirements (India!) has to be available or be uploaded online.

  • Insurance: Accident insurance, e.g. with Sparkasse (relatively cheap), health / travel cancellation insurance e.g. with Creditcard Gold.
